Screenshot Viewer Controls: Zoom, Refresh, Scroll Speed and Clipboard Copy

guide

Screenshot Viewer is a Minecraft utility mod that lets you browse, manage and open the screenshots you have captured, and its keyboard and mouse controls are the fastest way to move around it.

Zooming with CTRL

Hold CTRL to enter zoom mode. While you hold it, the viewer enlarges the screenshot you are looking at so you can inspect details without opening the image elsewhere. Release the key and the view returns to normal.

Zoom direction is configurable. The Invert Zoom Direction setting flips which way the zoom moves when you scroll during zoom. When this option is on, scrolling one way zooms in and the other zooms out, reversed from the default behaviour. Turn it off if the standard direction feels more natural to you.

Refreshing the screenshot list

Press F5 to refresh the screenshots. This reloads what the viewer displays, which is useful after you take a new screenshot or change the contents of your screenshots folder while the screen is open.

Mouse controls

Use the scroll wheel to move through screenshots and to zoom. The Scroll speed setting controls how fast the screen scrolls, and it accepts values from 1 to 50. A lower number moves slowly and precisely; a higher number covers more ground with each notch.

Right-click a screenshot to manage it. This opens the management options for that entry rather than simply viewing it.

Hold CTRL and press C to copy the screenshot to your clipboard. If it works, you get a confirmation telling you the copy succeeded. If it does not, you get a failure message instead.

Managing screenshots

The Manage Screenshots... option opens the management view for your captures. From there you can delete screenshots, rename them, and open them in the Screenshot Manager.

Deleting asks for confirmation unless you have turned that prompt off. The confirmation warns that the screenshot will be lost permanently, and the wording changes depending on whether you are removing one image or several. Toggle Fast Delete changes how deletion behaves so you can skip part of that process.

Renaming opens a field where you type a new name for the screenshot and confirm it.

If you have not captured anything yet, the viewer tells you that no screenshots exist rather than showing an empty grid.

Sorting and folders

You can order the list by Ascending Order or Descending Order, and the Default Screenshot List Ordering setting decides which order is applied when the screen first opens. Open Screenshot Folder takes you to where the image files live, and the Screenshots Folder setting stores the path the viewer reads from.

When a screenshot link appears in chat, Redirect Screenshot Chat Links makes clicking that link open the image in the Screenshot Manager instead of elsewhere. The Redirect to screenshot manager option does the same job from inside the viewer.

Reaching the viewer

Show Button In Game Pause Menu adds an entry point in the pause menu, and Show Button On Title Screen adds one on the title screen. Both buttons can be nudged around with the offset settings for each location. The Open Screenshot Manager action is also available directly.

Note that in-game configuration is not supported, so changing settings happens through the config screen provided by a separate configuration mod.
