Server-Side Ender Chest Sync and Container Info Options in Shulker Box Tooltip
Shulker Box Tooltip includes a set of server-side settings that control ender chest synchronization, extra container information, and how the mod behaves on multiplayer servers. These options live in the mod's configuration screen and are aimed at server operators, though anyone can view them.
Server Integration
The Server Integration section governs what the client is allowed to request from a server. Its main switch determines whether the client sends packets that unlock additional preview data, such as ender chest contents. Turning this off disables everything nested beneath it.
Within that section you will find ender chest sync type, which decides how ender chest contents reach the client:
- None — no synchronization at all, so players cannot see an ender chest preview.
- Active — contents update whenever they change.
- Passive — contents update at the moment a player opens a preview.
There is also a separate option that lets a server share additional container details with clients running the mod. If this is switched off, all of the options below it stop working.
Client Integration and Server-Set Options
The Client Integration area holds options intended for servers to configure. On a multiplayer server, editing these values from your own menu does not change what the server has set, so your local changes may have no visible effect.
Extra Container Information
Two settings add information beyond a plain item list.
Generic Container Preview extends previews to items that carry container data but are not one of the explicitly supported types. With it enabled, such items display a preview in the same manner as a shulker box.
Loot Table Info Type reports the loot table tied to an item, when one exists. It only appears when the tooltip style is set to Modded. The three levels are:
- Hide — no loot table information, which is the default.
- Simple — indicates only whether the stack comes from a loot table.
- Advanced — names the loot table the item uses.
Related Display Settings
Several adjacent options shape how previews look and behave. A theme choice lets you pick between the mod's own appearance and a style matching vanilla bundle previews. A position setting places the preview inside the item's tooltip, outside it while shifting near screen edges, always at the top, or always at the bottom.
Other toggles cover colored preview windows, abbreviated counts for large stacks, hiding custom text on shulker box tooltips (useful when a server-side preview datapack conflicts with the mod), and whether key hints appear in a container's tooltip. You can also swap preview modes so the preview key opens the full preview instead, or make the preview appear constantly without any key press.
Controls
Three actions are bound to keys you assign yourself in the controls menu: opening the full preview window while hovering a container stack, opening the regular preview window while hovering a container stack, and holding a key to lock a tooltip in place while previewing a stack. No default keys are assumed here, so set whichever bindings suit you.
Applying Changes
The configuration screen is titled ShulkerBoxTooltip Configuration. If you try to leave while editing, a confirm prompt asks whether you want to quit and discard changes, warning that your edits will be lost. Some modifications trigger a notice that a restart is required before they take effect.
