Constructing the Hat Stand

Displaying favorite hats as interior decoration uses the dedicated Hat Stand block entity. Constructing a stand requires only two basic woodworking items in a crafting grid:

Place one log from any tree variety in the top slot.
Place one wooden slab directly underneath the log in the lower slot.

This vertical two-item recipe outputs one Hat Stand. When placed in the world, the stand appears as a sleek wooden display mannequin. Right-clicking the stand while holding any cosmetic hat securely mounts the headwear on top of the pedestal. Interacting with an empty hand retrieves the displayed hat back into the player's inventory, making the stand ideal for armories, storefronts, and trophy halls.

Seasonal Scraps and Holiday Grab-Bags

Beyond the standard rarity tiers, Simple Hats introduces four distinct seasonal collections themed around calendar celebrations. Seasonal scraps assemble into dedicated grab-bags using the familiar 2x2 crafting pattern:

Easter Hat Grab-Bag: Assembled from four Easter Hat Scraps in a 2x2 square; unboxes springtime bunny ears, pastel egg shells, and festive floral caps.
Summer Hat Grab-Bag: Crafted from four Summer Hat Scraps in a 2x2 square; contains sunglasses, sun hats, fruit crowns, and beachwear.
Halloween Hat Grab-Bag: Stitched from four Halloween Hat Scraps in a 2x2 square; awards witch hats, monster masks, spooky pumpkin crowns, and phantom appendages.

Dyeing Customizable Hats

Many hats feature dyeable fabric elements that accept custom coloration. If a hat model supports tinting, placing the hat alongside any vanilla dye item (such as Red Dye, Cyan Dye, or Bone Meal) inside a crafting grid permanently changes the cloth accents to match the chosen shade.
