Understanding Sprinkler Effects in Create Slice & Dice
The
Sprinkler is a block that distributes fluids in a small area below it, with different fluids producing varied effects on entities. To use a sprinkler, place it directly below a pipe that supplies a fluid.
Crafting a Sprinkler
To craft a
Sprinkler, combine four
Copper Sheets, one
Fluid Pipe, and one
Iron Bars in a crafting grid.
Sprinkler Fluid Effects
Different fluids delivered through a sprinkler will have unique impacts on the area and entities within it. The effects are as follows:
- Lava: Entities caught in the sprinkler's range will receive a small amount of fire damage.
- Water: The area beneath the sprinkler becomes wet, simulating a raining environment.
Potions: Any potion fluid will apply its respective effect to entities in the area for a brief duration.- Liquid Fertilizer: This fluid applies a bonemeal effect to blocks within the sprinkler's range, promoting growth.
Sprinklers are also functional when part of contraptions. They apply their effects each time the contraption moves them to a new block. This includes physics contraptions created by Create Simulated. The specific effect a fluid has can be customized.
What the sprinkler is spending
The fluid the system runs on is Liquid Fertilizer, and the mod's three mixing recipes are the only ways to make it — from organic compost at 250 mb, from
Tree Fertilizer at 500 mb, and a 1000 mb variant. Each returns the same volume it consumes, so the real cost is the compost or fertilizer rather than the fluid.
A Bucket of Liquid Fertilizer is the mod's single item, which is how the fluid moves before it reaches a tank.
Building the supply
Because mixing is a Create operation, the supply chain is a Create chain: a basin with a mixer, fed compost, output piped to the sprinkler. Nothing in this mod substitutes for that, and the crafting recipes themselves take
Andesite Casing,
Cogwheel,
Copper Sheet and
Fluid Pipe.
Sizing it
Four pages, one item, three blocks — there is no larger version of this system to grow into. The way to cover more farmland is more sprinklers fed from the same fluid network, not a bigger sprinkler.
Version parity
The 1.21.1 (4.3.3) and 1.20.1 (3.6.0) builds carry identical recipe counts, so a sprinkler setup transfers between them unchanged.
