Curing Harvests on Drying Racks and Machine Dryers
Curing freshly harvested buds and tobacco leaves removes moisture to prepare plant matter for grinding and processing.
Crafting Drying Racks and the Powered Dryer
Removing moisture from freshly clipped agricultural foliage can be handled on passive wooden frames or powered drying machines:
Drying Rack: In a crafting table, place iron ingots in the left and right vertical columns (6 iron ingots total), 1 oak planks in the center slot, and 2
Hemp Fibers in the top and bottom center slots to craft 1
Drying Rack.
Dryer: For automated facilities, place 4
Hemp Plastic in the corners, 2
Hemp Core in the top and bottom center, 2 magma blocks on the middle sides, and 1
Drying Rack in the center to craft 1
Dryer.
Wooden drying racks can be arrayed along curing shed walls, providing an attractive artisanal aesthetic while processing crops at zero operating cost.
Curing Buds and Tobacco Leaves
Hanging damp agricultural cuttings on a
Drying Rack slowly cures moisture over time. Inserting fresh tobacco leaves into a rack cures them into
Dried Tobacco Leaves. Similarly, freshly harvested agricultural buds must undergo thorough curing before they can be effectively pulverized into herbal powders.
Powered dryers speed up this curing cycle dramatically by consuming energy to rapidly bake moisture out of botanicals. Automated hoppers can load wet crops into the top of a dryer and extract cured product from the bottom.
Grinding Dried Botanicals
Once dried, cured leaves and buds must be processed into fine fibers and powders using grinders:
Manual Grinder: Crafted from 5 stone, 2
Hemp Fibers, and 2 iron ingots. It can also be discovered inside village plains house chests.
Grinder: Crafted with 4
Hemp Plastic in the corners, 2 iron ingots in the top and bottom center, 2
Hemp Core on the sides, and 1 grindstone in the center to produce 1
Grinder.
Grinding botanicals yields essential manufacturing ingredients:
- Processing 1
Hemp Leaf produces 1
Hemp Fibers in a manual grinder or 2
Hemp Fibers in a powered grinder. - Feeding
Dried Tobacco Leaves into a grinder produces processed
Tobacco. - Feeding cured buds yields ground weed ready for culinary edibles and extract production.
