Superb Warfare: Research, Weapons and Vehicles

guide

Superb Warfare adds modern weapons, vehicles and a research system that gates them. This guide covers how progression works, where the ores are, and what the vehicle list involves.

Research gates the arsenal

The mod registers 104 Researching recipes on both builds, and that category is the spine of progression. Weapons are not simply crafted from materials you find — they are unlocked through research first, then built.

Around it, the recipe list is large but conventional: 284 crafting recipes on 1.21.1 (283 on 1.20.1), 46 Smithing Transform entries, 14 Blasting, 8 Smelting, 6 Item Application, 2 Crushing and a single Mixing recipe.

Vehicles have their own bench

Vehicle Assembling carries 44 recipes on both builds. That is a substantial slice of the mod given it only ships 31 blocks against 337 items — vehicles are the reason the mod has a dedicated assembly step at all.

The vehicles are not simple mounts. The AH-6 Little Bird, for instance, is a light helicopter that seats four crew, carries thin armour, and holds four flare countermeasures for breaking guided targeting, replenishing them one at a time over time.

Three ores, and their depth bands

The mod adds its own metals, and all three generate in the overworld across wide bands:

Galena starting twelve levels lower is the practical detail. A branch mine at the bottom of the range hits all three; one dug at Y=45 will never see galena.

Ammunition types do different things

Bullets are not interchangeable. Armour-piercing rounds ignore a percentage of armour that scales with the perk level applied to them, starting at 35 percent and rising by 5 per level. Hollow-point rounds work the opposite way: they add damage that scales inversely with how much armour the target has, so they reward shooting the unarmoured.

Perks come from the Gun Reforge Table, which is where a weapon is improved rather than replaced.

The support blocks

Several blocks exist to shape a fight rather than win one. Barbed Wire slows anything walking through it the way cobwebs do while dealing continuous damage. A Jump Pad launches players, mobs and the mod's vehicles alike. The Aircraft Catapult moves whatever stands on it in the direction its arrow points. A Target Deployer reports the damage and range of your shots in chat, which makes it the fastest way to compare two weapons honestly.

Version note

Both builds are 0.8.9.1 and carry near-identical lists; only a single book recipe on 1.20.1 separates them.
