Supplementaries Combat: Bombs, Cannons, and Traps
Beyond decoration, Supplementaries adds a set of combat gadgets and traps. This guide covers how to craft and use them.
Explosives
Bomb — four
Iron Ingot, a string and
TNT; a throwable explosive.
Cannon and
Cannonball — the cannon fires cannonballs, each crafted from five
Block of Iron (or five lead blocks). A serious ranged siege weapon.
Traps and projectiles
Bamboo Spikes — a floor trap; the tipped version applies a potion effect, and washing a tipped spike with
Soap (or Create's splashing) returns a plain one.
Confetti Popper — three dyes, three paper and gunpowder for a festive burst.
Rope Arrow — an arrow that trails a climbable rope; charges are added at a crafting table.
Quiver — holds arrows for quick firing.
Using them together
The bomb and cannon give a base real offensive options, while bamboo spikes and the trapped present handle passive defense. Because most of these are configurable, you can tune their power to your world before relying on them.
Many of these systems are 1.21.1 only
Supplementaries gained a set of small recipe categories on the newer build that do not exist on 1.20.1 at all:
- Add Charges — 3 recipes, Sus Crafting — 3 (on both)
- Antique Book — 2, Item Lore — 2, Weathered Map — 2
- Confetti Dye, Mixing, Smithing Trim, Soap Clearing,
Trapped Present — 1 each
Every one of those is zero on 1.20.1. They are small systems, but they are the ones that make the mod feel like a toybox, and a 1.20.1 world simply does not have them.
The parts that are stable
Crafting is essentially identical — 262 recipes on 1.21.1 against 263 on 1.20.1 — along with Stonecutting (15 each), Haunting, Splashing and Smelting at one apiece. Cutting doubles from 3 to 6.
The scale
262 pages across 198 blocks and 64 items. This is a block mod first, so most of what you make is placed rather than carried.
Two structures
The mod places a Galleon (spacing 31, separation 19) and a Road Sign attached to stronghold generation (spacing 19, separation 10).
