Terramity Guns, Ammo, and Combat Enchantments Guide
Terramity guns, ammo, enchantments, and combat-related effects form a complete ranged combat system that works alongside your melee loadout. Understanding each weapon family, their ammunition needs, and the special enchantments available will help you choose the right tool for any fight.
Gun Types
Terramity offers a wide variety of firearms, each built for a different role. Handguns typically carry large magazines, deal reliable damage, and some can be wielded one-handed. This lets you pair a pistol with a melee weapon, attacking in close quarters while still having a ranged option ready. Semi-automatic rifles shoot at a moderate pace with good accuracy over long distances, making them dependable mid-range choices. Sniper rifles push range even further, with very little bullet drop and heavy damage per shot, but they demand expensive ammunition and a slow reload cycle.
Automatic weapons trade precision for raw output. They have decent reach and pour out damage quickly, but their shots may spray off target and the ammo cost can add up fast. Shotguns hit extremely hard at close range and throw enemies back with massive knockback, yet their effective distance is short. Railguns sit in a class of their own: they are hitscan, deal extraordinary damage, and consume no ammunition at all. Instead, they run on a cooldown system, so keeping one ready as an emergency finisher is a smart habit. Rocket launchers excel at demolition and wiping out clustered groups of foes, provided you do not mind the collateral damage to the ground around you. A few firearms do not fit neatly into any category, but they still function as guns and are worth trying.
Ammunition
Every gun accepts only its own designated ammo type. When you hold a firearm, the ammo counter overlay tells you exactly which rounds it needs. For example, the basic rifle uses gold rounds, which are inexpensive to craft and can often be farmed in many modpacks. If you run low on ammunition, consider setting up a Bomb Flower farm to produce gunpowder for more rounds.
Controls
Firing a gun works like using a bow: press right click to shoot. To reload, crouch and right click at the same time. There is also a keybind labeled “Auto Fire” in your controls menu. Leave it set to right click unless you have reassigned right click to another action, because changing it can break your shooting.
Combat Enchantments
Three enchantments in Terramity directly improve gun performance.
Rapid Reload is a level 1 enchantment that makes your weapon reload faster. It cannot be applied alongside Semi-Auto, so pick one or the other depending on your playstyle.
Overclocked is also level 1. It shortens the wind-up time on railgun-type weapons, letting you fire them sooner after drawing or aiming. This is especially useful if you rely on a railgun for quick emergency shots.
Slug Conversion is a level 1 enchantment for shotguns. Instead of firing a spread of pellets, your shotgun will launch a single, heavier projectile that deals more damage per hit. This trades crowd control for focused stopping power. Slug Conversion is incompatible with Narrowed Pellets, so you must choose between a tight spread or a true slug.
Use these enchantments to tailor your firearms to specific encounters. Rapid Reload suits any gun you fire often, Overclocked is mandatory for railgun fans, and Slug Conversion turns a shotgun into a long-range punch if you can manage its ammo economy. Pair the right gun with the right ammo and enchantment, and you will have an answer for every threat.
