Smaller Graveyard Structures and Their Loot
Overview
This guide covers the smaller structures added by The Graveyard (FABRIC), focusing on where they generate and what you can expect to find inside. These compact sites are distinct from the larger, more elaborate dungeons and offer quicker exploration opportunities.
Lich Prison
The Lich Prison is a rare find. It attempts to generate once per 120x120 chunk region, with a minimum distance of 100 chunks between any two prisons. This makes it the most uncommon structure in this group. Due to its rarity, you should not specifically search for it; instead, consider it a lucky discovery while traveling across the world.
Medium Graveyard
The Medium Graveyard is a more common sight. It attempts to generate once per 18x18 chunk region, with a minimum spacing of 16 chunks. A key gameplay feature of this structure is that it overrides the spawning of monster mobs. This means that within its boundaries, the standard rules for hostile mob spawning are replaced by the structure's own specific spawning logic. Be prepared for a different kind of threat here compared to the open wilderness.
Memorial Tree
The Memorial Tree is a solitary and somber structure. It attempts to generate once per 14x14 chunk region, with at least 12 chunks between each occurrence. This structure is notable for its relative frequency and simple layout. It is a good target for newer players seeking a low-risk exploration site, as it does not override any standard mob spawning rules.
Mushroom Grave
The Mushroom Grave is an unusual and distinct structure. It attempts to generate once per 24x24 chunk region, with a minimum separation of 18 chunks. Its unique appearance makes it easy to spot from a distance. Like the Memorial Tree, it does not alter standard mob spawning, so the dangers you face here will be the usual ambient ones.
Ruins
The Ruins structure is a scattered and decayed site. It attempts to generate once per 16x16 chunk region, with a minimum distance of 12 chunks between instances. Similar to the Medium Graveyard, the Ruins overrides the spawning of monster mobs. This override suggests that the structure has its own unique set of hostile spawns, so approach with caution and be ready for an encounter that differs from the norm.
Small Desert Grave
The Small Desert Grave is tailored for arid biomes. It attempts to generate once per 20x20 chunk region, with a minimum spacing of 16 chunks. This structure does not have any special mob spawning overrides. Its loot is typically modest, but it is a consistent and easy-to-access point of interest for desert travelers.
General Exploration Tips
When exploring any of these structures, remember that their loot is often found in chests or other containers placed near the central grave or monument. Because the spawn rates and mob behaviors can be altered by the structure itself, it is wise to scout the perimeter before entering. Bring adequate lighting and be mindful of your surroundings, as the atmosphere of these sites is often deliberately unsettling. While the rewards may not be as grand as those from larger dungeons, these smaller structures provide a steady source of supplies and a change of pace from standard cave exploration.
