How to Reset Horde Data, Clear World Data, and Output Horde Logs in The Hordes
The Hordes provides a set of commands for managing horde events, resetting player data, clearing world data, and producing logs. All of these actions are run as commands through the mod's interface rather than through crafting or in-game items, and each command reports its result back to you as an on-screen message.
Spawning and Starting Hordes
The /hordes spawnWave command summons a horde wave. It takes one argument: the number of mobs to spawn. On success you will see a confirmation that the horde wave was summoned. If the argument you supply is not a valid value for the mob count, the mod tells you that your input is not a valid argument for the number of mobs to spawn. If you supply the wrong number of arguments, it reports that the wrong number of arguments was supplied for the wave-spawning command.
The /hordes start command begins a horde event. Its single argument is the length of the event, given in ticks. When it succeeds, you are told the horde event was started for that many ticks. An invalid value produces a message that your input is not a valid argument for the event length, and an incorrect argument count produces a message that the wrong number of arguments was supplied for the event-starting command.
Stopping Events
An active horde event can be stopped. When the stop succeeds, the mod confirms that the active horde event was stopped for the specified player.
Resetting Horde Data
The /hordes reset command resets horde data. It accepts an optional player argument, so you can target a specific player or omit the argument to reset more broadly. On success, the mod confirms that all horde data was reset for the named player.
Clearing World Data
World data can be cleared entirely. When this action succeeds, the mod reports that all existing horde world data was cleared. Use this when you want to wipe the stored horde state for the world rather than resetting a single player's data.
Outputting Logs and Entity Lists
The mod can output a horde log. On success, the mod tells you where the horde log was output. This is the action to use when you need a record of horde activity to inspect.
The /hordes listEntities command outputs a list of all entities. When it succeeds, the mod confirms that a list of all entities was output to the specified destination. This gives you a quick inventory of the entities currently present.
The /hordes spawnZombie command is also available for spawning a zombie directly.
Handling Data and Script Errors
If there are problems in the data that is currently loaded, the mod raises a data error and directs you to check the named file for more information. Similarly, if there are errors in loaded scripts, a script data error directs you to check the named script file. When you encounter either message, open the file it names and review it before continuing, since the affected data or scripts may not behave as expected until the errors are corrected.
Command Feedback
Every command above responds with a clear message: a success line when the action completes, or a specific error line when an argument is invalid or the argument count is wrong. Read the returned message to confirm what happened, and adjust your arguments accordingly before running the command again.
