Knightmetal and Ironwood Smelting in The Twilight Forest
Knightmetal and Ironwood metallurgy provides the two premier indigenous metals needed to forge fortified armor, specialized weaponry, and demolition tools in The Twilight Forest. Rather than mining standard underground veins, players must harvest mystical organic roots and defeat dungeon-dwelling goblins to extract the raw materials required for both alloys.
Forging Ironwood Ingots
Ironwood is a dense, infused metallurgical composite that carries innate enchantments when forged into gear:
Liveroot: Harvested by breaking exposed liveroot blocks growing beneath canopy trees and inside hollow hills.
Raw Ironwood: Crafted on any crafting grid by combining one Liveroot, one 
Raw Iron, and one 
Gold Nugget. This recipe yields two Raw Ironwood items.
Ironwood Ingot: Smelted in a standard furnace or blast furnace from a single Raw Ironwood.- Nine Ironwood Ingot items can be combined in a crafting grid into one
Block of Ironwood, which can be decrafted back into nine ingots.
Forging full suits of Ironwood armor or tool sets (such as the 
Ironwood Sword, 
Ironwood Pickaxe, and 
Ironwood Axe) yields equipment pre-imbued with durable enchantments.
Smelting Knightmetal Ingots
Knightmetal is a jagged, dark green combat alloy salvaged from the armor shards of subterranean goblin knights:
Armor Shard: Dropped by hostile goblins in the deep Goblin Knight Stronghold, including the lower goblin knight, upper goblin knight, block and chain goblin, and helmet crab. Stronghold chests also yield loose shards.
Armor Shard Cluster: Crafted by arranging nine Armor Shard items in a three-by-three crafting grid.
Knightmetal Ingot: Smelted from one Armor Shard Cluster in a furnace or blast furnace.- Nine Knightmetal Ingot items combine to form one
Block of Knightmetal.
Knightmetal Weaponry and Combat Gear
Knightmetal equipment excels at piercing armored targets and controlling battlefield crowds:
Knightmetal Sword: Crafted from two Knightmetal Ingot and one stick. Deals extra damage against armored foes.
Knightmetal Pickaxe: Crafted from three Knightmetal Ingot and two sticks.
Knightmetal Axe: Crafted from three Knightmetal Ingot and two sticks.- Knightmetal armor: Complete armor set consisting of the
Knightmetal Helmet (five ingots), 
Knightmetal Chestplate (eight ingots), 
Knightmetal Greaves (seven ingots), and

Knightmetal Loop: Formed by placing four Knightmetal Ingot items in a ring shape.
Block and Chain: Heavy flail weapon crafted from one Block of Knightmetal, three Knightmetal Ingot, and one Knightmetal Loop.
Knightmetal Shield: Tactical barrier crafted from three Knightmetal Ingot, two towerwood planks, and one Knightmetal Loop.
