Threateningly Mobs Structures: Nests, Palaces and Dungeons

guide

This guide lists every structure Threateningly Mobs generates, sorted by how often it appears, and explains what the recipe list implies about its loot.

The rare tier

The two altars sharing settings is a design signal: they are counterparts, one on land and one below water, and neither is meant to be found casually.

The palace tier

Four builds cluster closely:

Because their spacings differ by only three, no palace is meaningfully rarer than another. Whichever you meet first is chance rather than progression, so there is no intended order.

Nests

That last one is an outlier by a wide margin. At a spacing of 8 the Castylosaurus Nest is four times denser than the next nest and effectively part of the landscape.

The Distortion Dungeon

Spacing 8, separation 4 — the densest structure in the mod. Paired with the Castylosaurus Nest, these two are what you will actually encounter, and they are the practical entry point.

What the recipe list says about loot

The mod registers 81 crafting recipes against 194 items. Well over half its items therefore have no recipe at all — they are drops. Combined with 13 structures and a mob-centred design, that means progression here is entirely about killing things in the right places.

The processing categories are minimal: 9 smelting, 6 smoking, 6 stonecutting and 1 blasting recipe.

Why the two dense structures matter most

At a spacing of 8, the Castylosaurus Nest and the Distortion Dungeon appear roughly four times as often as the next nest and five times as often as the palaces. In a mod where most items are drops rather than crafts, that density is the whole early game: they are the only reliable, repeatable source of material before you are equipped for a palace.

The stonecutting count is a hint

Only 6 stonecutting recipes against 86 blocks means there is essentially no decorative variant system here. The blocks exist to build the structures and to support the creatures, not to furnish anything. If you came looking for a building palette, this is not that mod.
