Humanoid Target

The Humanoid Target is a functional block used to test your aim with firearms. It provides a clear visual and auditory response when struck by projectiles.

Crafting Recipe

To craft a Humanoid Target, you need the following shaped recipe:

  • 5 Iron Ingots
  • 1 Redstone Dust
  • 1 Oak Planks

Arrange these in the crafting grid so that the Iron Ingots form the body and limbs of the target, with the Redstone Dust acting as the core mechanism and the Oak Planks as the base. The exact layout follows a standard shaped pattern, but the result is a single Humanoid Target block.

Usage

Place the Humanoid Target on the ground or on a solid surface. When you shoot it with any projectile from a TaCZ firearm, the target will react to the hit. This reaction confirms your shot landed and helps you measure accuracy at various distances.

The target is ideal for setting up a static shooting range. You can place multiple targets at different distances to practice precision shooting or to test the effective range of different guns. Because it is a solid block, it will also stop projectiles that hit it, making it a safe backstop for your range.

Minecart with Target

The Minecart with Target is a moving variant of the standard target. It combines the functionality of a Humanoid Target with the mobility of a minecart, allowing you to practice shooting at moving targets.

Crafting Recipe

To craft a Minecart with Target, combine one Humanoid Target with one standard Minecart in a crafting grid. The recipe is shaped, meaning you place the Humanoid Target and the Minecart in specific slots to produce one Minecart with Target.

Usage

Place the Minecart with Target on a rail system. It will behave like a normal minecart in terms of movement—it can be pushed, pulled, or set in motion along your tracks. When it moves, the attached target moves with it.

Shooting the Minecart with Target while it is in motion tests your ability to lead a moving target. This is excellent for practicing shots on targets that simulate an enemy on the move. You can design a rail loop or a straight track that carries the target past your shooting position at a controlled speed.

The Minecart with Target retains the same hit reaction as the stationary Humanoid Target, so you will know immediately when you land a shot. This makes it a valuable tool for advanced marksmanship training, as it forces you to account for both distance and motion.

Range Design Tips

For a basic static range, line up several Humanoid Targets at increasing distances. For a dynamic range, lay down a rail track that passes in front of your shooting position and send the Minecart with Target along it. You can adjust the speed by using powered rails or by giving the cart an initial push. Combining both types in one range lets you switch between stationary and moving practice without rebuilding your setup.
