Tinkers' Construct Tools, Materials, and Modifiers
Tinkers' Construct tools grow with their materials and modifiers. This guide covers what shapes a tool's power.
Parts and materials
Every tool is a set of parts — a head, a handle and a binding on many tools — and each part's material sets its stats: mining speed, durability, attack and special traits. Different materials carry different traits, so choosing parts is how you tune a tool to a job. Parts are shaped at the Part Builder or cast in the Smeltery.
The mod's materials
Beyond vanilla metals, Tinkers' adds distinctive materials: the slime family — Earthslime, Skyslime, Enderslime, Ichor and Cinderslime — gathered as crystals and balls, and metals like Cobalt, Steel and Knightmetal. Each brings its own trait to a tool part.
Modifiers
Modifiers are the endgame. At a modifier workstation you apply upgrades to a tool — adding abilities and boosting stats — with the number of slots and the modifiers available depending on the tool and materials. Because tools are permanent and re-modifiable, you keep improving a single favorite tool rather than replacing it, layering modifiers as you gather rarer materials.
