Enable Biome Titles, Blacklist Biomes, and Tune the Recent-Biome Cache in Traveler's Titles

guide

Traveler's Titles shows an on-screen title when you enter a biome or dimension, and its settings let you turn those titles on or off, exclude specific biomes and dimensions, and control how often titles reappear. Everything below is adjusted through the mod's settings interface rather than through crafting or items.

Turning Titles On

The Biome Title Settings group contains an Enable Biome Titles toggle. When this is on, entering a biome can display its title. A separate Enable Dimension Titles toggle sits in the Dimension Title Settings group and controls the same behavior for dimensions. Both groups are independent, so you can run biome titles without dimension titles or the reverse.

Blacklisting Biomes and Dimensions

Blacklisted Biomes accepts a list of biomes that should never produce a title when you enter them. The expected format is a bracketed, comma-separated list of identifiers, for example `[minecraft:plains, minecraft:desert]`. Any biome you add here is skipped entirely.

Blacklisted Dimensions works the same way for dimensions, using a list such as `[minecraft:overworld, minecraft:the_nether]`. Dimensions on this list will not show a title when you enter them.

The Recent-Biome Cache

Traveler's Titles keeps track of the biomes you have visited most recently so that moving back and forth between a handful of biomes does not repeatedly trigger titles. Number of Most Recent Biomes Saved sets how many entries that list holds. If you set it to 5, your five most recent biomes are remembered and will not immediately re-trigger a title.

Reset Biome Cache When Changing Dimensions decides whether that remembered list is wiped whenever you travel to a different dimension. Enabling it gives you a clean slate after each dimension change; disabling it keeps your recent biome history intact across dimensions.

Surface-Only Behavior

Only Show Biome Titles When Exposed To Skylight restricts biome titles in dimensions that have no ceiling, such as the Overworld, so a title only appears when you are actually exposed to the sky. This keeps biome titles from firing while you are underground. A matching Only Show Dimension Titles When Exposed To Skylight option does the same thing for dimension titles.

Timing, Position, and Appearance

Several options shape how a title looks and how long it stays:

  • Text Fade-In Time, Text Fade-Out Time, and the display duration are all measured in ticks, where 20 ticks equals one second. The fade-in and fade-out values control how long those effects last, while the display duration controls how long the text remains visible.
  • Text Cooldown Time sets the minimum number of ticks that must pass after a title is shown before another one can appear. Raising it helps prevent spam when you are moving quickly.
  • Display Text Shadow adds a shadow beneath the text to make it easier to read.
  • Horizontally Center Title centers the text on screen. When it is enabled, the text X and Y offset values are measured from the center of the screen; when it is disabled, they are measured from the top and left edges instead.

Sounds

Biome Sound Effect Volume and Biome Sound Effect Pitch control the loudness and pitch of the sound played when a biome title appears. Dimension Sound Effect Volume and Dimension Sound Effect Pitch do the same for dimension titles. Custom sounds are only used if you supply them through a resource pack.
