Adjusting Text Position, Color, Shadow, Fade Timings, Cooldown, and Sound Settings in Traveler's Titles
Traveler's Titles shows an on-screen banner naming the biome or dimension a player enters, and nearly every part of that banner can be tuned from its settings screens. The options are grouped under Biome Title Settings and Dimension Title Settings, and the two groups mirror each other closely, so once you understand one you can apply the same thinking to the other.
Turning Titles On and Off
Each group has its own master switch. Enable Biome Titles controls whether biome banners appear at all, and Enable Dimension Titles does the same for dimension banners. Switching one off leaves the other group untouched.
Positioning the Text
Two offsets decide where the text sits: one for the vertical placement and one for the horizontal placement. Their meaning depends on the centering option. When Horizontally Center Title is on, the horizontal offset is measured from the middle of the screen; when it is off, that offset counts from the left edge. The vertical offset behaves the same way — measured from the screen's center while centering is active, and from the top edge when it is not. Turning centering on also changes how the text is anchored, so it stays centered as it appears.
Color and Shadow
The color setting takes a default RGB value, which sets the base color of the title text. Display Text Shadow adds a shadow beneath the characters, which improves readability against bright or busy backgrounds. Both options exist separately for biome and dimension titles.
Fade Timings and Cooldown
Three timing values shape how a title behaves, all measured in ticks, where twenty ticks equal one second.
- The fade-in time sets how long the text takes to appear gradually.
- The display time sets how long the text stays fully visible.
- The fade-out time sets how long the text takes to disappear gradually.
Text Cooldown Time is separate from those three. It defines the smallest gap that must pass after a title has been shown before another one is allowed to appear. Raising it keeps titles from firing constantly when a player crosses many biome borders in a short stretch.
Avoiding Repeated Titles
Traveler's Titles remembers the biomes a player has recently entered, which stops the same few titles from reappearing as someone moves back and forth across a border. Number of Most Recent Biomes Saved sets how many entries that memory holds — a value of five, for instance, keeps the five latest biomes. Reset Biome Cache When Changing Dimensions decides whether that memory is wiped whenever the player switches dimensions.
Blacklists
Blacklisted Biomes lists biomes that should never produce a title, written as identifiers in a bracketed list such as `[minecraft:plains, minecraft:desert]`. Blacklisted Dimensions works the same way for dimensions, for example `[minecraft:overworld, minecraft:the_nether]`.
Surface-Only Display
Only Show Biome Titles When Exposed To Skylight and Only Show Dimension Titles When Exposed To Skylight restrict banners to moments when the player can see open sky. In dimensions that have no ceiling, this keeps titles from appearing while the player is below ground.
Sound Volume and Pitch
Four sliders govern the audio that accompanies a banner: Biome Sound Effect Volume, Biome Sound Effect Pitch, Dimension Sound Effect Volume, and Dimension Sound Effect Pitch. Volume controls how loud the cue is and pitch controls how high or low it sounds. Custom sounds require a resource pack; without one, these settings apply to the built-in cue.
Opening the Interface
The settings screens are reached through the mod's interface rather than through crafting, and any in-game action tied to a hotkey uses the corresponding hotkey, which you assign in the controls menu.
