Twigs Decorations: Lanterns, Pots, and Natural Touches
Beyond structural blocks, Twigs adds decorative details that bring a build to life. This guide covers the standout decorations.
Paper Lanterns
The 
Paper Lantern is a Twigs signature: craft it from eight 
Paper around a 
Torch, then combine the lantern with a flower — 
Allium, 
Blue Orchid, 
Dandelion, 
Torchflower and more — to tint it with that flower's character. It is a soft, warm light for interiors and gardens.
Silt pottery and shingles
Silt Pot and 
Silt Shingles come in the full range of dyes, so you can match pottery and roofing to any color scheme. Shingles make excellent roofs, and the pots suit shelves and tables.
Natural materials
Twigs leans into organic touches: 
Bamboo Mat from three bamboo and 
Bamboo Thatch from bamboo leaves give woven floor and roof options, and 
Azalea Flowers are gathered from flowering azalea. The Bloodstone Obelisk structure, generating about once per 20x20 chunk region, is where the mod's bloodstone appears in the world. Together these details let you finish a build with texture the vanilla palette lacks.
Stonecutting is bigger than crafting here
Twigs is unusual in that its 283 stonecutting recipes outnumber its 257 crafting recipes. For a decoration mod that ratio is the whole design: most blocks are cut from a parent stone rather than assembled from parts.
The practical consequence is that a stonecutter is more useful than a crafting table when working with this mod, and carrying one to a build site saves hauling variants.
Blocks, not items
242 blocks against 17 items across 259 pages. Almost nothing here is carried or used — it is placed.
Smelting is small and specific
Only 9 smelting recipes exist, so the furnace plays a minor role. If a block is not appearing in your recipe list, the stonecutter is the place to look before the furnace.
Version parity
The 1.21.1 (3.1.2) and 1.20.1 (3.1.1) builds carry identical counts in all three categories — 257 crafting, 283 stonecutting, 9 smelting. A palette built on one version reproduces exactly on the other.
Working with the palette
Because there is no progression, the useful discipline with Twigs is restraint: with 242 blocks available from the moment you have the base material, a build can easily end up using twenty variants where three would read better. Pick a parent stone, cut its family, and only reach for a second family when the first cannot express what you want.
