Umapyoi Mod Basics: Umamusume Souls and the Three Goddesses
What This Mod Adds
This guide introduces the Umapyoi mod, which turns you into an Umamusume—a being with horse-like traits and divine abilities—while focusing on raising, training, and inheriting traits. The mod’s core loop revolves around collecting souls, offering them to statues, and managing your character’s mood and stamina.
The Legend and the Three Goddesses
Long ago, according to the mod’s lore, a group of beings with horse ears and supernatural gifts lived on the land before you arrived. They claimed the Three Goddesses guided them there. Villagers called them Umamusume because they were all female and could run as fast as a fine horse. These beings raced across the plains and vanished, leaving only faint traces behind.
Inspired by them, some villagers began worshipping the Three Goddesses. They built statues in their honor, offered carrots—a favorite treat of the Umamusume—and carved carrot-shaped jewels as gifts. One day, while offering such a jewel to a statue, it transformed violently into a flame-like crystal. When a priest held it up, the crystal became an Umamusume. That event marked the beginning of the practice you now follow.
Umamusume Soul
An Umamusume is a girl born to run. In this mod, however, the term “Umamusume Soul” refers to the crystallized essence of such a runner, lodged inside a special crystal. These souls carry names inherited from another world—some of those original owners had tragic fates, while others shone brightly for generations. The souls carry on their legacy by running.
To obtain a soul, place a jewel or an Uma Ticket on a special block. After a brief burst of change, you receive a
Faded Umamusume Soul. This dull-colored crystal does nothing on its own. To make it useful, offer the faded soul directly to a Three Goddesses Statue. The goddesses’ blessing will make the crystal glow again, restoring it to a functional state.
Once you transform into an Umamusume, your current motivation and selected skill appear in the bottom-right corner of the HUD. On the right side of the screen, a blue bar shows your Action Pt—but this bar is hidden by default when your Action Pt is full.
Three Goddesses Statue
The Three Goddesses are the original three Umamusume, and they govern all others. They grant souls, power, and knowledge, and they point the way forward for every Umamusume. For trainers, the most important use of the
Three Goddesses Statue is to activate a Faded Umamusume Soul. The statue is also central to “Factor Inheritance,” a system that lets you pass down traits. Whether the goddesses truly appear remains a mystery.
Umamusume Pedestal
The Umamusume Pedestal is an offering stand designed for the Three Goddesses. After the first Umamusume Soul appeared, crafters refined the pedestal into its current elegant form. Its main purpose is to pray for the granting of a soul, so trainers often call it the summoning pedestal.
When you place a jewel or an Uma Ticket on the pedestal, it changes with a burst and yields a
Faded Umamusume Soul. However, if you place a book on the pedestal instead, the book transforms into a floating, blue-covered tome that becomes part of the pedestal. In this case, you do not receive a soul—instead, you get a Support Card, an important item used for training.
The pedestal comes in gold and silver versions. Only the gold pedestal can produce the rarest item, which is identified by its purple name. As a note of etiquette, remove any secondary items you are holding when you summon, to show your devotion.
Motivations and Panicking
After transforming, you can sense the inner feelings of your Umamusume Soul. The most direct feeling is motivation. Your mood rises and falls with the soul’s state, and this directly affects how well you use your power. Keeping motivation high is essential.
There are five motivation stages, in decreasing order: Peak, High, Normal, Low, and Slump. Injury is the usual cause of a drop in motivation, but eating strange or unpleasant foods can also lower it. The fastest and most common way to recover is to eat tasty food, such as good drinks or desserts.
If your motivation is already at Peak, pushing it down further can trigger Panicking. Panicking prevents you from regaining Action Pt naturally over time. To calm down, drink milk or use the Serene skill. Panicking does not block other ways of restoring Action Pt, such as drinking Vital.
