Forging Trike Shields and Prehistoric Relic Gear in Unusual Prehistory
Prehistoric relics and biological trophies furnish advanced personal equipment, heavy armor, and defensive gear in Unusual Prehistory. By harvesting horns from defeated Triceratops, raptor plumage, and resin chunks, players can upgrade standard iron and diamond implements into resilient gear capable of withstanding attacks from apex predators.
Forging and Utilizing the Trike Shield
The
Trike Shield provides unmatched defensive stability against massive charging beasts. Fabricating this heavy bulwark uses a vanilla smithing table: combine one standard vanilla
Shield with one
Triceratops Horn in the smithing interface to forge the reinforced shield.
Obtaining a
Triceratops Horn requires defeating a mature Triceratops in combat. When an adult Triceratops is slain, it drops its horn to furnish heavy defensive armory materials.
- Blocking with the trike shield substantially slows down close-range attackers within 4 blocks.
- Attackers striking the shield while the player is blocking are slowed down, reducing their mobility and opening opportunities for counterattacks.
- Maintaining the shield relies on resin chunks: combining damaged gear with an
Amber Chunk in an anvil restores durability without consuming another horn. - The shield can also be loaded into dispensers to equip defensive guard mobs automatically.
Prehistoric Utility Gear and Raptor Armor
Beyond heavy shields, ancient biological components yield specialized footwear, cranial armor, and wildlife transport bags:
Austroraptor Boots: Crafted by arranging two
Velociraptor Feathers across the middle row and two
Austroraptor Feather items along the bottom row of a crafting table. Wearing these lightweight feathered boots resets fall velocity continuously, completely negating fall damage from high cliffs.
Majungasaurus Helmet: Fabricated using five
Majungasaurus Scute plates arranged in an inverted helmet U-shape. Wearing this predatory helm empowers the wearer with a continuous Strength buff in battle.
Veloci-Shield: Crafted by combining four
Velociraptor Feathers in the outer corners, two
Rex Tooth items on the top and bottom, two
Amber Chunk pieces on the sides, and a standard
Shield in the center.
Dino Pouch: Assembled from three
Leather, two
Insulator, and one
String. Right-clicking a juvenile baby Megatherium with the pouch gently packages the infant inside, converting the item into wearable
Sloth Pouch Armor that carries the growing sloth safely on the player's back.
Encyclopedia of Prehistory: Crafted by combining any fossil block with a standard book, compiling biological lore and breeding diets across all discovered prehistoric entities.
