Vanilla Backport adds a large set of new blocks, spawn eggs, buckets, boats, and decorative variants to the game, and this guide explains what each one is and how to use it. Everything here is handled through the mod's interface and hotkeys rather than through crafting, so treat the lists below as things you obtain, place, or trigger directly.

New Blocks and Decorative Variants

The mod introduces several families of building blocks. Use them the same way you would use any comparable block: select it and place it where you want it.

Chiseled Resin Bricks — a decorative variant in the resin brick family.
Resin Brick Stairs — a stair-shaped resin brick block.
Cinnabar Brick Slab, Cinnabar Brick Stairs, and Cinnabar Brick Wall — the slab, stair, and wall forms of cinnabar brick.
Polished Cinnabar Slab, Polished Cinnabar Stairs, and Polished Cinnabar Wall — the slab, stair, and wall forms of polished cinnabar.
Polished Sulfur Slab, Polished Sulfur Stairs, and Polished Sulfur Wall — the slab, stair, and wall forms of polished sulfur.
Sulfur Brick Stairs — a stair-shaped sulfur brick block.
Stripped Pale Oak Log and Stripped Pale Oak Wood — stripped wood variants for pale oak builds.
Pale Oak Fence Gate, Pale Oak Pressure Plate, Pale Oak Hanging Sign, Pale Oak Wall Hanging Sign, and Pale Oak Wall Sign — functional and sign variants in the pale oak set.

Three potted plants are also available as decorative pieces: Potted Closed Eyeblossom, Potted Open Eyeblossom, and Potted Pale Oak Sapling. Place them as you would any potted plant.

Spawn Eggs

Several mobs can be spawned directly with their eggs:

Creaking Spawn Egg
Happy Ghast Spawn Egg
Sulfur Cube Spawn Egg

Select the egg and use it to place the corresponding mob.

Buckets and Boats

Bucket of Sulfur Cube — a bucket holding a sulfur cube.
Pale Oak Boat with Chest — a pale oak boat that also carries a chest.

Harnesses

Light Blue Harness and Light Gray Harness are available as harness items.

Advancements

Two advancements group progress around these additions: Bundles of Bravery and The Garden Awakens. Complete their requirements to earn them.

Actions and Interactions

Some features are triggered by performing a specific action in the world. For each of these, use the corresponding hotkey (set it in the controls menu) where a control is involved.

Heart Transplanter — place a Creaking Heart so that it is correctly aligned between two Pale Oak Log blocks.
Place a Dried Ghast block into water.
Remove Wolf Armor from a wolf using Shears.
Fully repair damaged Wolf Armor using Armadillo Scutes.
Have a Sulfur Cube absorb a TNT block.
Tame one of each Wolf variant.

Settings and Feedback

An Air Drag Modifier control is available, and a stack of items can hold a mixed set of contents.

Sulfur Cube explosions are disabled is a setting state you may encounter; when it applies, sulfur cube explosions will not occur.

The mod also surfaces a range of on-screen messages and sounds tied to these features, including Creaking Heart lines such as "Creaking Heart grumbles," "Creaking Heart awakens," and "Creaking manifests"; Dried Ghast lines such as "Dried Ghast rehydrates" and "Dried Ghast feels better"; Eyeblossom whispering; a sulfur spring bursting; noxious gas appearing; Happy Ghast crooning and being ready with harness goggles down; and Small Sulfur Cube messages covering death, putting on mass, hurting, and bouncing, plus Sulfur Cube bouncing and being pushed, and Sulfur Cube being scooped when filled. Music tracks are also included: "fingerspit - Bounce," "Hyper Potions - Lava Chicken," and "Amos Roddy - Tears."
