Verity JE Structures That Spawn in Plains Biomes
Three Verity JE structures generate in minecraft:plains: Thatmob Base, Thatmob Lookout, and Twixxel Library. All three share the same placement rules, so a single plains biome can host any of them, and the spacing between them is what decides whether you find one at all.
The shared placement rule
Every one of the three plains structures uses the same generation setup:
- Biome: minecraft:plains
- One placement attempt per 25x25 chunk region
- At least 5 chunks apart
That second and third point matter more than they look. A 25x25 chunk region is large, and the game makes only one attempt to place the structure inside it. The 5-chunk minimum separation then stops two of these structures from crowding each other.
The practical result is that the three structures are spread thin. You will not walk from a Thatmob Base straight into a Twixxel Library. Expect distance between finds, and expect a lot of empty plains in between.
Thatmob Base
Thatmob Base is one of the two Thatmob-themed structures that generate in minecraft:plains. It follows the standard plains placement: one attempt per 25x25 chunk region, at least 5 chunks apart.
Because it shares its biome and spacing rules with the other two, there is no way to tell from the placement data alone which of the three you will run into first. The region attempt is rolled, and whichever structure wins that roll is what appears.
Thatmob Lookout
Thatmob Lookout is the second Thatmob structure in the plains set. Like Thatmob Base, it generates in minecraft:plains with one attempt per 25x25 chunk region and a minimum of 5 chunks between placements.
The name suggests a vantage point, but the placement facts are identical to its siblings. Treat Thatmob Lookout as another node in the same sparse plains network rather than something you can deliberately hunt by biome shape.
Twixxel Library
Twixxel Library is the third and final plains structure. It generates in minecraft:plains, one attempt per 25x25 chunk region, at least 5 chunks apart.
It is the odd one out thematically — the two Thatmob structures share a naming family, while Twixxel Library does not. That does not change anything about how it spawns. Its biome and spacing rules are the same as the other two.
What this means for exploring
Since all three structures use identical placement, the useful takeaway is about density, not about targeting one specific building:
- A 25x25 chunk region gets exactly one placement attempt, not one structure. The attempt can fail.
- The 5-chunk minimum keeps any two of these structures from generating too close together.
- All three are locked to minecraft:plains, so other biomes will never produce them.
If you are searching for any of the three, stay in plains and cover ground. There is no biome variant, no secondary biome, and no alternate placement rule that makes one of them easier to find than the others. Thatmob Base, Thatmob Lookout, and Twixxel Library are equally rare by the numbers given, and the only lever you have is how much plains terrain you cross.
One more consequence worth noting: because the minimum separation is measured in chunks and the attempt is per region, two of these structures can still end up reasonably near each other if the region rolls land close to a shared border. The 5-chunk floor is the hard limit, not a typical distance. In practice you should assume finds are uncommon and plan longer trips through plains rather than short loops.
For anyone mapping out a plains expedition, the three names to remember are Thatmob Base, Thatmob Lookout, and Twixxel Library — all plains-only, all one attempt per 25x25 chunk region, all at least 5 chunks apart.
