Visuality Mod Guide: Settings and Controls Overview
Visuality is a Minecraft utility mod that adds a variety of small visual improvements, mostly in the form of new particles. It is not used through crafting or items; instead, you interact with it through its settings interface and its hotkeys.
What Visuality Adds
The mod's purpose is to add extra particle effects on top of what the base game already shows. These are cosmetic touches rather than gameplay changes. The features are grouped into several named sections, each with its own toggle and, in some cases, additional options.
Feature Sections
- visuality — the general particle improvements added by the mod.
- waterCircle — controls for water circle effects.
- hitParticles — controls for particles that appear on hits.
- shinyArmor — controls for shiny armor effects.
- shinyBlocks — controls for shiny block effects.
Individual Toggles and Options
Each section exposes specific settings you can turn on or off, or adjust:
- Slime Blobs Enabled — toggles the slime blob particle effect.
- Charge Particle Enabled — toggles the charge particle effect.
- Sparkle Particle Enabled — toggles the sparkle particle effect.
- Soul Particle Enabled — toggles the soul particle effect.
- Water Circles Enabled — toggles the water circle effect.
- Water Circles Colored — controls whether water circles are colored.
- Water Circles Density — adjusts how dense the water circles are.
- Water Circles Radius — adjusts the radius of the water circles.
- Hit Particles Enabled — toggles hit particles.
- Hit Particles Entries — the list of entries that hit particles apply to.
- Shiny Armor Enabled — toggles the shiny armor effect.
- Shiny Armor Entries — the list of entries that shiny armor applies to.
- Shiny Blocks Enabled — toggles the shiny block effect.
- Shiny Blocks Entries — the list of entries that shiny blocks apply to.
Accessing the Settings
Visuality is configured through its interface rather than through any in-game item. Open the mod's settings screen to reach the sections and toggles listed above. From there you can switch individual effects on or off, and adjust the options that have values rather than simple on/off states, such as Water Circles Density and Water Circles Radius.
The Entries options under hitParticles, shinyArmor, and shinyBlocks are lists. They determine which things the corresponding effect applies to, so if an effect is enabled but you do not see it on something you expect, the entries list is the place to check.
Using Hotkeys
Some actions in Visuality are bound to hotkeys rather than to on-screen buttons. Where a feature is operated by a hotkey, use the corresponding hotkey and set it in the controls menu. Do not assume a default key: if you want a specific binding, assign it yourself in the controls menu before relying on it.
Practical Tips
- If an effect is not appearing, first confirm its Enabled toggle is on.
- For effects with an Entries list, check that the list covers what you are looking at.
- For waterCircle, remember there are separate controls for color, density, and radius, so the effect can be enabled while still looking different from what you expect until those are adjusted.
- Keep in mind that all of these are visual only; they change appearance, not behavior.
