How to Configure Water Circles in Visuality (Color, Density, Radius)

guide

Visuality is a mod that adds small visual touches to the game through particles. One of its effects is the water circle, a ring that appears in water. You control this effect through the mod's interface rather than any crafting recipe.

Turning Water Circles On or Off

The waterCircle option is the master switch for this effect. It is labeled Water Circles Enabled. When it is on, water circles appear; when it is off, they do not. Start here before adjusting anything else, since the other water circle settings only matter while the effect is active.

Coloring Water Circles

The Water Circles Colored setting decides whether the circles use color. With it enabled, the rings are tinted rather than left plain. This is a simple on-or-off choice — it does not ask you to pick a specific shade. If you want the circles to stand out against the water, turn this on; if you prefer a subtler look, leave it off.

Adjusting Density

Water Circles Density controls how many circles show up. Raising the value puts more of them into the water; lowering it thins them out. Use this when the effect feels too busy or too sparse for your taste. A low density gives you the occasional ring, while a high density fills the surface much more heavily.

Adjusting Radius

Water Circles Radius sets how large each individual circle is. A larger radius produces wider rings, and a smaller radius produces tighter ones. This works independently of density: you can have many small circles, a few large ones, or any combination in between. Tune the two together if you want a specific look.

How to Reach These Settings

These options live in the mod's interface. Open it and look for the waterCircle section, where the four settings above are grouped. Changes take effect as you make them, so you can watch the water and adjust until it looks right.

If the mod provides a hotkey for opening its interface, that key is not fixed here — use the corresponding hotkey and set it in the controls menu if you need to bind or change it.

Other Visuality Effects

The same interface holds the mod's other particle features, each with its own toggle and, in some cases, its own list of entries:

  • Slime Blobs Enabled — toggles slime blob particles.
  • Charge Particle Enabled — toggles charge particles.
  • Sparkle Particle Enabled — toggles sparkle particles.
  • Soul Particle Enabled — toggles soul particles.
  • hitParticles — includes Hit Particles Enabled and Hit Particles Entries.
  • shinyArmor — includes Shiny Armor Enabled and Shiny Armor Entries.
  • shinyBlocks — includes Shiny Blocks Enabled and Shiny Blocks Entries.

The Entries settings for hit particles, shiny armor, and shiny blocks let you specify which items or blocks those effects apply to. Water circles have no entries list — they are governed only by the enabled toggle, the colored toggle, density, and radius.

Suggested Starting Point

If you are unsure where to begin, enable waterCircle, turn on Water Circles Colored, and set a moderate density and radius. Then raise or lower each value one at a time until the rings match the look you want. Keeping density low and radius moderate tends to read as a light accent, while high density with a larger radius makes the effect a prominent part of the water's surface.
