When Dungeons Arise Structures: The Dungeon Catalog
When Dungeons Arise generates over thirty unique structures, and knowing the themes helps you decide what to raid. This guide catalogs the notable dungeons.
Illager strongholds and fleets
A large group belongs to the illagers: the Illager Fort and Illager Campsite on land, and a whole fleet on water — the Illager Corsair, Illager Galley and the Illager Windmill. These are defended sites built for a fight.
Arenas and grand builds
- Coliseum — a great arena structure.
- Foundry — an industrial complex.
- The Heavenly Challenger, Heavenly Conqueror and Heavenly Rider — a themed set of grand structures.
- Aviary and Bathhouse — distinctive large builds.
Camps, villages and ruins
Smaller but rewarding sites include the Bandit Towers and Bandit Village, the Greenwood Pub, the Fishing Hut, and ruined temples like the Abandoned Temple and Infested Temple. Most generate on wide 45x45 to 50x50 chunk spacing, so each discovery is its own expedition — pick a theme, travel until you find one, and clear it for its loot.
The full catalogue is 40 structures
The named builds below are a portion of a set of 40, which is what makes this mod worth installing on its own. The complete list runs from small roadside builds to full settlements, and includes the Abandoned Temple, Aviary, Bandit Towers, Bandit Village, Bathhouse, Ceryneian Hind, Coliseum, Fishing Hut, Foundry, Giant Mushroom, Greenwood Pub and Heavenly Challenger among many others.
Reading the rarity
Almost all of them share the same placement band: spacing 45 to 50 chunks, separation 40 to 45. Two consequences follow.
First, there is no "common" structure here to practise on — the small Fishing Hut at spacing 45 is nearly as rare as the Coliseum at 50. Second, when you find one, the next of any type is at least 40 chunks away, so clearing a structure completely is always worth the time; you will not stumble onto a second one to make up for what you skipped.
Surface versus underground
The catalogue is overwhelmingly surface-generated, which is why flying is the efficient search method. The Foundry breaks that pattern by generating in the underground-structures step, so it is the one build you will meet while caving rather than while travelling.
Giant Mushroom is the other outlier: it carries no standard spacing values at all, using its own placement rules instead of the shared grid the rest of the catalogue sits on.
