Finding Yggdrasil’s Rare Biome Structures

This guide covers the placement rules and search strategy for locating the less common biome-specific structures in the Yggdrasil mod: Asflors, Zenflors, Helblom, Lifblom, Voroblom, and the Nether Alfheim Tree.

Understanding Structure Placement

Each of these structures does not appear in every biome. Instead, they generate only where a specific biome tag applies. The mod uses two numbers to control how often they appear:

Attempt region: The mod makes one placement attempt per square chunk region of a given size.
Minimum spacing: After a structure is placed, no other structure of the same type can generate closer than a set number of chunks.

Because attempts are random within each region, you may search a large area and find nothing, then stumble upon two structures relatively close together (but never closer than the minimum spacing).

Asflors

Generates in: `#yggdrasil:has_structure/asflors`
Placement: One attempt per 50x50 chunk region.
Minimum spacing: 35 chunks between structures.

This is the rarest of the group. Its attempt region is far larger than the others, meaning you will need to cover an enormous amount of terrain before you see one. Do not expect to find it while casually exploring. Focus your search on the biome tag listed above, and be prepared to travel thousands of blocks. When you do find one, it will always be at least 35 chunks from the next Asflors.

Zenflors, Helblom, Lifblom, and Voroblom

These four structures share identical placement rules:

Generates in: Each has its own tag (`#yggdrasil:has_structure/zenflors`, `#yggdrasil:has_structure/helblom`, `#yggdrasil:has_structure/lifblom`, `#yggdrasil:has_structure/voroblom`).
Placement: One attempt per 30x30 chunk region.
Minimum spacing: 20 chunks between structures of the same type.

These are more common than Asflors, but still rare enough that you will not see them on every excursion. Because each type only generates in its own biome tag, the first step is identifying which biome you are in. If you are in a biome that matches the tag, you have a chance to find the structure, but only one attempt per 30x30 chunk region. This means that in any given 30x30 chunk area, the mod tries once — success is not guaranteed.

When searching for any of these four, move in a straight line and periodically check your coordinates. Since the minimum spacing is 20 chunks, once you find one, you can safely skip ahead at least 20 chunks before you need to look again for another of the same type. However, remember that the attempt region is 30x30, so even after passing the minimum spacing, you may need to cover the full region to trigger a successful placement.

Nether Alfheim Tree

Generates in: `#yggdrasil:has_structure/nether_alfheim_tree`
Placement: One attempt per 30x30 chunk region.
Minimum spacing: 25 chunks between structures.

This structure appears only in the Nether, within biomes that carry the specified tag. Its attempt region matches the Zenflors group, but its minimum spacing is slightly larger at 25 chunks. When exploring the Nether for this tree, keep in mind that the terrain is more hazardous and harder to traverse quickly. Use the same method as above: move methodically, check your coordinates, and once you find a tree, travel at least 25 chunks before resuming a thorough search for the next one.

General Search Tips

Confirm the biome tag first: If you are not in a biome that matches the structure’s tag, you will never find it there. Move to a different biome before wasting time.
Use chunk coordinates: Press F3 (or your debug key) to see your chunk position. This helps you track how far you have traveled relative to the attempt region and minimum spacing.
Cover full regions: Since placement is one attempt per region, you must explore enough of each region to give the attempt a chance to succeed. Skimming the edge of a region may miss the spawn point entirely.
Be patient with Asflors: The 50x50 region and 35-chunk spacing make this the most time-consuming structure to locate. Plan a long expedition with supplies.

By understanding these placement rules, you can avoid endless random wandering and instead search systematically through the correct biomes.
