Configuring Central Tower Spawning and Respawning in YUNG's Better End Island

guide

YUNG's Better End Island gives you control over when the central tower appears in the End and what happens when the Ender Dragon is summoned again. All of these options live in the mod's settings interface, so there is nothing to craft and no items to place. You open the settings screen and toggle the entries you want.

Central Tower Spawning Options

Two settings decide when the tower exists in your world.

Spawn Central Tower Initially controls whether the tower is present the moment the End dimension is created. With this enabled, a freshly generated End already contains the tower, so you never see the dimension without it. Turn it off if you would rather the structure not be part of the initial generation.

Respawn Central Tower on Resummon controls what happens later, when the Ender Dragon is brought back. With this enabled, the tower is rebuilt at the moment the dragon is summoned again, restoring the structure for the repeat fight. With it disabled, re-summoning the dragon does not bring the tower back.

These two work independently. You can have the tower appear at world generation but not return on a resummon, have it absent at first but rebuilt later, have it in both cases, or have it in neither. Decide based on whether you want the tower to be a one-time part of the dimension or something that keeps coming back with each dragon fight.

Dragon and Egg Behaviour

Resummoned Dragon Drops Egg determines whether an egg appears every single time the dragon is killed, not just on the first defeat. Its tooltip explains that this governs whether the dragon leaves an egg on each victory. Enable it if you want a repeatable supply of eggs from repeated fights; leave it off if you prefer the egg to remain a one-time reward.

There is also a setting for the bell sound that plays before the dragon is summoned the first time and again during later summonings. Toggle it according to whether you want that audio cue present.

Vanilla Structure Overrides

Two settings let you keep the original versions of certain End structures instead of the mod's redesigned ones.

Spawn Vanilla Obsidian Platform decides whether the standard obsidian platform appears in the End rather than the mod's reworked platform. Enable it to keep the familiar arrival platform; disable it to use the revamped one.

Spawn Vanilla End Gateways does the same for the gateways. Enable it to keep the original gateway structures, or disable it to use the redesigned gateways.

How to Operate These Settings

Open the mod's settings interface and locate the entries by name. Each one is a simple toggle: turn it on to enable the described behaviour, turn it off to disable it. Changes apply to how the End generates and how it behaves when the dragon is summoned again, so set them before you rely on them.

If you prefer to reach the settings screen without clicking through menus, bind the corresponding hotkey in the controls menu. No default key is assigned here, so choose one that does not conflict with your other binds.

Practical Combinations

  • Want the tower only on first generation: enable Spawn Central Tower Initially, disable Respawn Central Tower on Resummon.
  • Want the tower to return for every dragon rematch: enable both tower settings.
  • Want a clean End with no tower at all: disable both tower settings.
  • Want repeatable dragon eggs: enable Resummoned Dragon Drops Egg.
  • Prefer the original End structures: enable Spawn Vanilla Obsidian Platform and Spawn Vanilla End Gateways.

Review these toggles before generating a new End or before re-summoning the dragon, since the tower settings affect generation and respawn events specifically.
