YUNG's Better End Island Overview and Settings Guide

guide

YUNG's Better End Island changes how the End dimension generates, replacing several vanilla structures with revamped versions and giving you control over which parts appear. All of its options are toggles you flip through the mod's own interface rather than anything you build or craft in the world.

What the Mod Changes

The mod touches three main pieces of the End: the obsidian platform you arrive on, the gateways that connect the outer islands, and the central tower where the Ender Dragon fight takes place. Each of these has a setting that lets you keep the original version or use the mod's redesigned version. There are also settings covering dragon-related events, such as egg drops, tower respawning, and an audio cue before the fight begins.

Accessing the Settings

Open the mod's configuration interface to view and change any of the options below. Every entry is a simple on/off toggle. Switch a toggle on to enable the described behaviour, or off to disable it. Changes take effect according to when the relevant structure or event is generated, so settings tied to world generation apply to newly created areas rather than terrain that already exists.

If the interface is opened through a hotkey rather than a menu button, use the corresponding hotkey (set it in the controls menu) to bring it up.

The Options

  • Resummoned Dragon Drops Egg — controls whether the Ender Dragon leaves behind an egg each time it is killed. With this enabled, every defeat produces an egg, not just the first one.
  • Spawn Vanilla Obsidian Platform — controls which arrival platform appears in the End. Turn this on to keep the original obsidian platform; turn it off to get the mod's redesigned platform instead.
  • Spawn Vanilla End Gateways — controls which gateways appear in the End. Turn this on to keep the original gateways; turn it off to use the mod's redesigned gateways instead.
  • Spawn Central Tower Initially — controls whether the central tower is present when the End is first created. Enable it to have the tower generated along with the rest of the dimension at world creation.
  • Respawn Central Tower on Resummon — controls whether the central tower comes back when the Ender Dragon is summoned again. Enable it to have the tower regenerate during a re-summon.
  • Bell sound toggle — controls whether a bell rings before the Ender Dragon is summoned. When enabled, the sound plays ahead of the first summon and also ahead of later re-summons.

Practical Notes

The two vanilla-style toggles work as a pair of choices: leaving them on preserves the original structures, while turning them off swaps in the mod's replacements. The tower settings are independent of each other, so you can have the tower appear at world creation but not return on a re-summon, or the reverse. The egg and bell options affect dragon fights directly and can be changed at any time through the interface.
