Switching Between Vanilla and Revamped End Structures in YUNG's Better End Island
YUNG's Better End Island includes two toggles that let you keep the original Minecraft obsidian platform and End gateways while still using the rest of the mod's changes. Both options are found in the mod's settings interface, and each one swaps a single structure type back to its unmodified form.
The Two Vanilla Toggles
Spawn Vanilla Obsidian Platform controls what appears where you arrive in the End. When this option is on, the plain obsidian platform from the base game generates instead of the mod's redesigned platform. When it is off, the revamped platform is used.
Spawn Vanilla End Gateways does the same job for the gateways that connect the outer islands. With this option enabled, the standard gateways appear rather than the mod's reworked versions. With it disabled, you get the revamped gateways.
These two settings are independent. You can turn on one without the other, so it is possible to keep the vanilla platform while still using the revamped gateways, or the reverse. If you want the mod's take on both structures, leave both options off.
How to Change the Settings
Open the mod's settings interface to reach these toggles. Each entry has a label and a short description of what it affects, so you can confirm you are changing the right one before you do. Flip a toggle to switch between the vanilla structure and the revamped one. The change applies to newly generated structures; it does not retroactively replace anything already present in a world.
There is no crafting step and no item involved. These are configuration choices, not in-game objects.
Related End Options
The same settings screen holds several other toggles that affect how the End behaves. They are separate from the two vanilla-structure switches, but they are worth knowing about if you are adjusting the mod's overall behaviour.
- Resummoned Dragon Drops Egg decides whether the Ender Dragon leaves an egg behind every time it is killed, not just the first time.
- Spawn Central Tower Initially controls whether the central tower is present when the world is first created.
- Respawn Central Tower on Resummon controls whether that tower comes back when the Ender Dragon is summoned again.
- A bell sound option controls whether a bell rings before the dragon is summoned for the first time and again during later summonings.
Practical Notes
If you prefer the familiar look of the original End while still wanting other parts of the mod, enable both vanilla toggles. If you only dislike one of the redesigned structures, enable just that toggle and leave the other alone.
Because these are toggles rather than one-time choices, you can change your mind later and switch back. Just reopen the settings interface and flip the option again. Keep in mind that any structure already generated in your world keeps its current form; the setting governs what spawns from that point forward.
For the central tower and dragon egg options, the same logic applies — they determine future behaviour rather than altering what already exists in a saved world.
