YUNG's Better Jungle Temples: One Structure, Rebuilt

guide

This mod replaces the vanilla jungle temple with a larger version. This guide covers exactly what that means.

One structure, no content

The mod registers zero items, zero blocks and zero recipes. Its entire contribution is a single structure: the Jungle Temple, at a spacing of 24 with a separation of 8.

It overrides rather than adds

The important detail is that this is the jungle temple, not a new building beside it. The mod rebuilds what generates in that slot, so a world with this installed has the same number of jungle temples in the same places — they are simply much larger and more elaborate.

That also means no new biome tag to hunt and no second structure competing for space.

Reading the spacing

At 24 with a separation of 8, jungle temples are reasonably common wherever jungle exists. The gate is finding jungle, not finding the temple — once you are in the biome, one is usually within reach.

The 3-to-1 spacing-to-separation ratio permits some clustering, so a large jungle can hold more than one.

Both builds are the same structure

3.1.2 on NeoForge for 1.21.1 and 2.0.5 on Forge for 1.20.1. The version numbers look a major release apart, but both register the same single structure.

What to expect

A significantly expanded jungle temple with more to explore than the vanilla three-room build. Because the mod adds no items or blocks, whatever you find inside comes from vanilla loot tables and from whatever else is in your pack.

Adding it to an existing world

Structures generate with new chunks, so temples in already-explored jungle will stay vanilla. To see the rebuilt version you need unexplored jungle — worth knowing before installing mid-playthrough and concluding it does not work.

Where it fits

This is one of a family of YUNG's structure replacements. This wiki also covers YUNG's Better Dungeons and YUNG's Cave Biomes, which follow the same principle: replace a vanilla feature with a far larger version rather than adding new content beside it.

What "zero pages" means for a mod like this

This wiki counts a page per item and block a mod registers. A structure-replacement mod registers neither, so it reports zero — and that is the correct result rather than a gap in coverage.

The same is true of its siblings: replacing a vanilla feature is invisible to a registry count and obvious the moment you walk into one.

Scale

0 pages, 0 items, 0 blocks, 0 recipes, 1 structure at spacing 24, separation 8. Versions 3.1.2 (NeoForge, 1.21.1) and 2.0.5 (Forge, 1.20.1).
