Ad Astra Oxygen, Gravity, and Space Suits
Surviving off Earth in Ad Astra means managing oxygen, gravity and temperature. This guide covers the survival machines and the suits that keep you alive.
Space suits
Your suit is your life support. The standard space suit stores breathable oxygen; the
Netherite Space Suit upgrades it with permanent fire resistance and more protection; and the
Jet Suit adds still more protection, extra oxygen and flight, with an ascending mode and an elytra-like boosted mode. Check conditions before stepping out with the Ti-69, a handheld device that reads local oxygen, temperature and gravity.
Oxygen distribution
For a base rather than a suit, the oxygen distributor fills a sealed room with breathable air, drawing on an infinite water source through a water pump plus enough energy. The room must be completely sealed — the distributor's screen warns you when oxygen is leaking through a hole, and a breach in a pressurized room causes a rapid, dangerous depressurization. Add ventilation so closed doors do not block the flow.
Gravity and sealing
The gravity normalizer creates artificial gravity in a sealed area, with a slider to set the strength. Because cables are not solid, they will not seal a structure, so route them carefully around airtight rooms. Sliding doors are large three-by-three doors that seal oxygen when closed, making them ideal airlocks, and can be locked for security.
