Alex's Caves biome finder
How Alex's Caves places its biomes
The six cave biomes do not follow the normal biome map. The mod lays a loose grid over the overworld, one cell every width plus separation blocks (1,200 with the default config), nudges each cell's centre a little, and turns a round area around each centre into a cave biome. Which of the six it becomes is decided by the cell, so every biome gets about one spot in six.
A spot only turns into its biome if the terrain above suits it. The Abyssal Chasm needs a deep ocean overhead, the other five need solid land well away from the coast, and none of them generate close to spawn. That is why a biome can be missing from a large area: its spots fell under the wrong terrain.
Servers can change the width and separation in the mod's config; enter their values above to see the effect.
