How the generator works
A generator coil turns rotation into energy through the magnets around it. It checks twelve spots two blocks out from its axis, three on each side, and adds up their strength: 1 for a block of magnetite, 2 for a redstone magnet, 4 for a layered magnet, 8 for fluxuated magnetite and 24 for a netherite magnet. Energy grows with that total and with the speed. Stress does too, plus a fixed 24 per RPM for the coil itself, which is why weak magnets waste most of the rotation, while a full ring of netherite magnets returns about 92% of the energy a motor would need to produce the same stress.Carbon brushes collect from up to eight coils on the same shaft.
Motors work the other way and ignore speed: a motor always supplies the same stress, whatever RPM you set, and draws power in proportion to it. An extension behind a motor multiplies both, by 2 for the basic one and 8 for the advanced one.
