Reinforced Chainmail Armor
The 
Reinforced Chainmail Armor is your entry point into the mod’s armor progression. To craft this set, you need 
Steel Ingot x2 and 
Steel Chainmail x6 in a shaped crafting pattern. This armor provides a solid base layer of protection and is the first step before moving on to more advanced knightly gear. The recipe requires you to have already processed steel into both ingots and chainmail links, so prepare your smelting and crafting stations accordingly.
XIV Century Knight Armor and Leggings
The 
XIV Century Knight Armor represents a significant upgrade over reinforced chainmail. Its crafting recipe uses 
Steel Plate x5 and Steel Chainmail x3, arranged in a shaped pattern. This chest piece reflects the historical transition toward heavier plate protection while still incorporating chainmail for flexibility in key areas.
For the lower body, the 
XIV Century Knight Leggings require a separate recipe: Steel Chainmail x3 and Steel Plate x4. Note that the leggings use more chainmail relative to plate than the chest armor does, which mirrors historical designs where leg protection needed more articulation. Both pieces together form a complete XIV Century set, but you must craft them individually.
Gothic Armor
The 
Gothic Armor is a specialized chest piece that builds upon the XIV Century design. Its crafting recipe is more complex: Steel Plate x5, a 
Half-Armor item, and 
Steel Nugget x2. The inclusion of the Half-Armor component means you must first acquire or craft that intermediate piece before you can make Gothic Armor. The steel nuggets act as decorative and structural rivets, giving this armor its characteristic fluted appearance.
Kasten-brust Armor
The 
Kasten-brust Armor follows a similar pattern to Gothic Armor but uses different materials. The recipe calls for Steel Plate x5, a Half-Armor, and 
Small Steel Plate x2 instead of steel nuggets. This variation produces a distinct chest piece with a boxier, more angular profile compared to the Gothic style. Like Gothic Armor, you cannot craft Kasten-brust Armor without first having a Half-Armor available.
Maximilian Armor
The 
Maximilian Armor is the ceremonial and most advanced set in this progression. Unlike the other armor pieces, you do not craft it from raw materials on a crafting table. Instead, you must use a Smithing Transform process. This requires three components: a 
Smithing Template, a 
Knight Armor piece, and 
Blaze Powder. The Knight Armor serves as the base item, and the Blaze Powder acts as the transformative agent. This smithing process upgrades your existing knight armor into the ornate Maximilian style, which is known for its elaborate fluting and ceremonial appearance.
Crafting Notes and Progression
- Gather steel in multiple forms: ingots, chainmail, plates, and nuggets.
- Always check which specific steel form each recipe requires, as they are not interchangeable.
- The Half-Armor is a prerequisite for both Gothic and Kasten-brust chest pieces.
- The Maximilian Armor is the only set that requires a smithing table rather than a crafting table.

Final Thoughts
