This guide explains how to craft swords, polearms, and hammers from base materials in the Epic Knights: Shields Armor and Weapons mod. All recipes follow a clear progression: you first craft a basic short sword and a hilt, then combine them with ingots or gems to create larger weapons.

Zweihander Swords

Zweihanders are large two-handed swords. Each one requires three ingots or gems of your chosen material, a matching short sword of that same material, and a hilt. The short sword acts as the blade’s core, while the three extra pieces form the extended blade.

Iron Zweihander: Place Iron Ingot x3, an Iron Short Sword, and a Hilt in a shaped crafting grid.

Diamond Zweihander accepts any item under the `#c:gems/diamond` tag.
Bronze, Silver, and Steel Zweihanders accept items under their respective ingot tags (`#c:ingots/bronze`, `#c:ingots/silver`, `#c:ingots/steel`).

This means if another mod adds a compatible diamond or ingot type, it may work in these recipes. Iron and copper recipes require the standard vanilla ingots.

Polearms and Hammers

The same base-material logic applies to polearms and hammers, though the specific recipes are not detailed here. In general, you will still need a short sword or similar starter weapon, a hilt or handle component, and the material ingots or gems. Final Tips

Keep your short swords even after upgrading—they are required for the larger weapon recipes.

Match the material exactly. A steel short sword cannot substitute for an iron one in the Iron Zweihander recipe.
If a recipe does not appear, verify that you have the correct tag-compatible ingots or gems, not a different metal.
