Exploring the World with Immersive Engineering Tools and Weapons

guide

Immersive Engineering offers a range of specialized tools, weapons, and utility items to aid in exploration and various tasks. These items often feature a retro-futuristic design and can be customized at an Engineer's Workbench.

Mining Drill

The Mining Drill is a handheld, diesel-powered device that significantly improves mining operations. Its speed and other characteristics are highly adaptable through exchangeable drill heads and various upgrades. To modify the drill, place it in an Engineer's Workbench. The drill uses Biodiesel as fuel, which can be loaded directly from a refinery or other storage like barrels or large tanks.

The drill's digging area depends on the attached drill head, but you can limit it to a single block by sneaking or sneaking and right-clicking. The drill head determines the base mining level, speed, size, and attack damage. Drill heads sustain damage during use but can be repaired with an anvil.

Since the drill is powered by a combustion engine, it will not operate underwater unless equipped with a Pressurized Air Tank. With this tank, the drill functions submerged and avoids the usual digging slowdown. An Advanced Lubrication System regularly applies lubricant, reducing drill head durability loss. Adding Additional Augers increases the drill's destructive power, making it faster and boosting its damage against living creatures. This upgrade can stack up to three times.

The drill's powerful action can cause some mineral waste. Applying redstone acid to soften the rock beforehand allows the drill to extract more raw ore from blocks. A Large Fuel Tank increases the drill's internal fuel storage, extending its operational time between refills.

Buzzsaw

The Buzzsaw is a large, portable tool designed for quickly clearing trees and other foliage. After inserting a sawblade and loading it with Biodiesel or another fuel using an Engineer's Workbench, it can cut through various types of trees. Like other tools, the buzzsaw can be modified at the Engineer's Workbench. Upgrades can affect the internal tank size, the number of blades it can store, and the sawblade's durability.

Replacing the standard sawblade with a Rockcutter Blade allows the buzzsaw to cleanly cut stone blocks, similar to a Silktouch effect. However, this diamond-tipped blade is not effective for cutting wood or felling trees. The Grinding Disk, made from aluminum grit in phenolic resin, is less durable but excels at cutting metal blocks, though it breaks easily on other materials. It can also scrape oxidation or wax from copper blocks or strip bark from logs, much like an axe. A Large Tank increases the buzzsaw's fluid capacity by 2000 mb. The Advanced Lubrication System applies lubricant to the sawblade, slowing down its durability loss. Attaching a Blade Quiver allows you to carry two extra sawblades, which can be cycled through using a configured keybind.

Revolver

The Revolver is a robust weapon chambered for 12-gauge cartridges. Similar to the Mining Drill, it can be modified at an Engineer's Workbench. Firing the revolver is loud and will attract hostile mobs.

The revolver accepts different types of ammunition. To load it, sneak and right-click, then place cartridges into the slots. A loaded Speedloader in your inventory will automatically refill the revolver after the last shot. A Precision Scope allows zooming in with the revolver; use it to activate the scope and the mouse wheel to adjust magnification. Attaching a Bayonet provides close-quarters combat capabilities, giving it melee damage equivalent to an Iron Sword. The Extended Magazine allows loading six additional cartridges, which are not refilled by a speedloader. Amplifying Electron Tubes apply an electric shock to fired projectiles, which persists until impact and transfers to the target, stunning them briefly and slightly discharging any powered equipment they use.

Collapsible Glider

The Collapsible Glider is a device that allows you to glide through the air, performing similarly to an Elytra. However, it has lower durability and cannot be enchanted. Its lightweight construction of hemp and aluminum makes it vulnerable to high speeds, taking increased damage during nose dives or when accelerated by fireworks. Its materials are easy to obtain, and it can be repaired with hemp fabric, provided it does not completely break during a high-speed dive.

Chemical Thrower

The Chemical Thrower propels fluids from its internal tanks and can optionally ignite them. It can be loaded with any fluid, liquid, or gas, and right-clicking sprays the contents. To toggle the pilot light for igniting flammable fluids, sneak and right-click. Like other tools, the chemical thrower can be modified at an Engineer's Workbench. Upgrades can affect tank size, range, and spread. A Large Tank increases the fluid capacity by 2000 mb. The Focused Nozzle reduces the spread of sprayed fluids and slightly increases their range, allowing for more precise hits on distant targets. The Multitank allows the Chemical Thrower to store up to three different fluids, with the active tank selectable via a keybind. This upgrade is mutually exclusive with the Large Tank.
