L_Ender's Cataclysm Armor: Ignitium and Cursium Sets
Cataclysm's armor sets are smithing upgrades applied to netherite gear, using ingots earned from its bosses. This guide covers the two main sets and their special helm.
Ignitium armor
Ignitium is the fire-themed set, upgraded from netherite pieces with an
Ignitium Ingot and the mod's smithing template:
Ignitium Helmet,
Ignitium Chestplate,
Ignitium Leggings and
Ignitium Boots, each from the matching netherite piece plus an
Ignitium Ingot.
The chestplate doubles as the base for the fused
Ignitium Elytra Chestplate, so consider your fusion plans before committing the piece.
Cursium armor
Cursium is the second set, upgraded from netherite with a
Cursium Ingot and its own smithing template — a full
Cursium Helmet,
Cursium Chestplate,
Cursium Leggings and
Cursium Boots.
The Monstrous Helm
Beyond the sets, the
Monstrous Helm is a standout piece, made by upgrading a
Netherite Helmet with a
Monstrous Horn — a boss drop turned into a helmet. Because every set here starts from netherite, treat Cataclysm armor as an end-game investment layered on top of full vanilla progression.
Armour comes through smithing and fusion
Two small categories carry the mod's gear: Smithing Transform at 9 recipes and Weapon Fusion at 8, both identical on either version. Against 116 crafting recipes, those seventeen entries are the whole upgrade path.
That compactness is useful — the entire endgame gear list is short enough to plan around in advance.
Amethyst Bless
A single recipe sits in its own category, Amethyst Bless, on both builds. One-recipe categories like this are usually a specific ritual or conversion rather than a system, and it is worth locating in a recipe viewer rather than searching the crafting list for it.
Where the material comes from
The mod places 15 structures, which is where boss materials originate. With 155 items against 128 blocks, the balance leans toward gear rather than building.
The one real version difference
Stonecutting jumped from 51 recipes on 1.20.1 to 72 on 1.21.1 — the decorative side grew while the gear side stayed fixed. Everything relevant to armour is identical across builds.
Where the armour sits in the mod
Cataclysm is 283 pages across 155 items and 128 blocks, and armour is a small, deliberate slice of that. The mod's whole recipe list runs to 116 crafting recipes, 9 smithing transforms, 8 weapon fusions, 72 stonecutting entries on 1.21.1 (51 on 1.20.1), and a pair each of smelting and blasting.
Nine smithing transforms is the number that matters for a gear guide: every upgrade path in the mod, armour and weapon alike, comes out of that one short list.
Fifteen structures feed it
The mod generates 15 structures, and they are where the boss drops that make armour come from. There is no ore to mine for these sets — the material comes out of a dungeon, which is why the armour is gated by exploration rather than by tech.
