L_Ender's Cataclysm Dungeons and Where to Find Them

guide

Cataclysm's bosses live inside its dungeons, and each dungeon generates in its own set of biomes. This guide covers the major structures and how far apart they sit.

The great dungeons

These are the widely-spaced set piece structures, all of which override monster spawning:

  • Ancient Factory — the rarest, about one attempt per one-hundred-twelve-by-one-hundred-twelve chunk region.
  • Sunken City — spaced at roughly one per one-hundred-by-one-hundred chunk region.
  • Acropolis, Burning Arena and Cursed Pyramid — each around one per eighty-by-eighty chunk region.
  • Frosted Prison — also on the eighty-by-eighty spacing.
  • Ruined Citadel — closer, about one per fifty-by-fifty chunk region.
  • Soul Black Smith — about one per sixty-by-sixty chunk region.

Smaller sites

Denser structures fill in the world between the great dungeons: the Amethyst Nest in lush caves, and the desert cluster — Desert Temple, Desert Site, Desert Occupied Village — along with Abandoned Spire, Abandoned Temple and Abandoned Village in the frosted biomes, all on tighter thirty-by-thirty spacing.

Hunting bosses

Because the great dungeons are spaced tens of thousands of blocks apart, expect long expeditions between them. The spawn override on every listed structure is your confirmation that you have found a real encounter — come with end-game gear, because these fights are the whole point of the mod.
