Weapon fusion is Cataclysm's signature crafting system: it combines two powerful items into a single stronger one. This guide lists what fuses into what.
How fusion works
Fusion takes a base weapon or tool and a second component, and returns an upgraded result — you are spending two hard-won items to make one better one, so choose combinations that match your build.
Fusion recipes
Brontes — an 
Infernal Forge fused with 
Astrape.
Void Forge — an Infernal Forge fused with a 
Void Core.
The Immolator — 
The Annihilator fused with an 
Ignitium Ingot.- Void Assault Shoulder Weapon — a Wither Assault Shoulder Weapon fused with a Void Core.
Gauntlet of Bulwark — a 
Gauntlet of Guard fused with a 
Bulwark of the Flame.
Gauntlet of Maelstrom — a Gauntlet of Guard fused with a 
Sandstorm in a Bottle.- Wrath of the Desert — a
Cursed Bow fused with a Sandstorm in a Bottle. 
Ignitium Elytra Chestplate — an 
Ignitium Chestplate fused with an Elytra, combining flight with the armor.
Planning your fusions
Several recipes consume a Void Core or a Sandstorm in a Bottle, so plan which upgrade you want before spending a rare component. The Ignitium Elytra Chestplate in particular is a defining craft, letting you keep elytra flight without giving up heavy chest armor.
