Where to Find Ruby Ore and Crystals in Mythic Upgrades
Ruby Ore in Mythic Upgrades generates exclusively within the fiery subterranean Nether dimension, appearing as raw mineral veins embedded in Netherrack and crystalline geode formations. Locating and extracting these radiant scarlet gems enables players to bridge the gap between standard Netherite armaments and mythic tier combat equipment.
Nether Generation and Mining Altitudes
Ruby deposits spawn strictly within the Nether dimension across specialized geological zones:
- In the Nether,
Ruby Ore veins generate embedded exclusively within Netherrack in the custom Mythic Rifts biome between Y 0 and Y 128. They do not generate in other standard Nether biomes or replace blackstone strata. - Natural
Budding Ruby Crystal formations and geodes generate across the lower Nether between Y 0 and Y 64. - Mining raw ruby blocks requires an
Iron Pickaxe or higher tool tier (such as diamond, netherite, or mythic tools). Breaking the block with wooden or stone implements fails to yield any drops. - Mining with a Fortune III enchanted pickaxe significantly multiplies the number of
Ruby gems gathered from a single ore deposit. - Using a Silk Touch pickaxe harvests the intact
Ruby Ore block for decorative construction or specialized smelting.
Smelting and Blasting Ruby Ores
Silk-touched ruby ores can be refined into pure gemstones through thermal processing:
- Smelting 1
Ruby Ore inside a standard furnace yields 1
Ruby. - Processing 1
Ruby Ore in a blast furnace cuts the cooking duration in half, producing 1
Ruby in 100 ticks (5 seconds).
Refining whole ores into loose gems prepares them for alloy forging and decorative transmutation.
Harvesting Ruby Crystal Geodes and Shards
Beyond standard ore veins, players can discover crystalline geode pockets that produce
Ruby Crystal Shard items:
- Growing crystal formations transition from
Small Ruby Crystal Bud to
Medium Ruby Crystal Bud,
Large Ruby Crystal Bud, and fully matured
Ruby Crystal Cluster formations attached to
Budding Ruby Crystal blocks. - Breaking mature clusters yields loose crystal shards without destroying the underlying budding blocks.
- In a crafting table, packing 4
Ruby Crystal Shard items in a two-by-two arrangement crafts 1
Block of Ruby Crystal. - Combining 1
Cobblestone with 1
Ruby Crystal Shard produces 1
Ruby Schist. - On a crafting table, players can craft decorative architectural blocks including
Ruby Crystal Bricks,
Ruby Crystal Pillar,
Cut Ruby Crystal Pillar, and
Polished Ruby Schist. These refined blocks can then be placed into a
Stonecutter to produce matching stairs, slabs, and walls.
Transitioning to Ruby Equipment
Once raw gems are harvested, they can be alloyed into metallurgical ingots for gear upgrades:
- Combine 4
Ruby gems and 4
Necoium Ingot items in a crafting grid to forge 1
Ruby Ingot. - Bring the ingot to a smithing table with a
Smithing Template and any existing Netherite equipment piece -- such as a
Netherite Sword,
Netherite Pickaxe, or
Netherite Chestplate -- to forge finished
Ruby Sword,
Ruby Pickaxe, or
Ruby Chestplate gear with amplified attack speed and durability.
