Occultism Automation: Storage, Mining, and Possession
Once you can summon spirits, Occultism becomes an automation mod — bound spirits handle storage, mining and special tasks. This guide covers what they can do.
Item storage
Djinni can be bound to provide vast digital-style item storage, letting you keep enormous quantities of items accessed through the mod's storage devices rather than walls of chests.
Dimensional mining
Spirits can be sent to mine in void dimensions on your behalf, gathering resources without you digging — one of the mod's signature automation payoffs for summoning higher-rank spirits.
Possession rituals
Possession rituals have a spirit inhabit a creature to change its behavior and drops. For example, a Possessed Bee attacks faster, always poisons, keeps its stinger and can summon more bees when hurt, while a Wild Horde Husk drops desert-trial items like pottery sherds and smithing templates. Each possession targets a specific creature for a specific reward.
Managing your spirits
Spirits residing in our world suffer Essence Decay, the slow rot of their form; binding a spirit into an object or a living being slows or stops it. By default only trader, time and weather spirits decay — most others are immune and will not despawn, so a well-bound workforce is permanent.
