Spartan Weaponry weapon stats
How weapon stats are worked out
Every weapon type has a base damage, an attack speed and a multiplier for the material's damage bonus. The material adds its bonus times that multiplier: wood and gold add nothing, stone 1, iron 2, diamond 3 and netherite 4, and the modded metals fall in between. So heavy types like the battle hammer and battleaxe gain twice the material bonus, while katanas, sabers and rapiers gain only half and rely on speed instead. DPS multiplies damage by speed, before enchantments, critical hits and traits.
Traits often matter more than the numbers: reach lets a weapon hit from farther away, sweep spreads damage to nearby enemies, and two-handed weapons attack slower and hit softer while anything is held in the other hand. Some materials add their own trait, such as netherite's fire resistance or silver's bonus against undead. Durability depends only on the material. Throwing weapons are left out, as they are balanced around being thrown.
